How the Heartbeatz Charity started. The story of Mia, Ethan, and Rogue:
In 2013, three beautiful children arrived in this world. They each had very unique little hearts which is what brought them to Children's Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha. These three little miracles brought together three families and changed our lives forever. Mia, Ethan and Rogue each fought so hard and brought so much joy to everyone that knew them. They taught us how to be patient, be brave and enjoy life in ways we never would have imagined. Their lives were short, but they left a big impact on so many.
What is Heartbeatz?
HeartBeatz raises awareness for CHD and provides familes with educational support. Our favorite part of this being with this organization are the stories that get shared and the support that those stories help other families on their journey. It is also wonderful to see children's faces light up when they know they how much they are loved and people they have never met have gone through the same thing and support them.
Research funds are in need to help children with CHD. CHD is not curable. The surgeries only help, but do not cure CHD. This year HeartBeatz donated $2300 to heart research through The Children's Heart Foundation. We are honored to help families by providing educational tools and donating to hospitals for medical equipment to help childrend with CHD. HeartBeatz hope is to help as many families as possible by sharing our story and creating awareness.

The Goal of the Knights of Heroes:
"Our goal is to help empower children who have lost their fathers during military service by providing positive adult mentorship, character development, and lasting friendships forged during an annual wilderness adventure camp." - Steve Harrold, founder. 100% of all donations go to the cause. From the Knights of Heroes camp mentors to the front office everyone's time is donated without compensation.
What is the Knights of Heroes? And how did it start?
The Knights of Heroes Foundation was created in January of 2007 by Lieutenant Colonel Steve Harrold. He did so to commemorate the life of a friend and former pilot, Major Troy Lee "Trojan" Gilbert, who was killed during combat operations while flying his F-16 to protect ground troops being overrun by the enemy in the Al-Anbar Province, Iraq on November 27, 2006. At the time of his death, Major Gilbert was a husband and father of five children. So now, each summer, families with children between the ages of 11 and 17 are invited to attend the Knights of Heroes camp at absolutely no cost.
While the kids are at camp, the moms and younger siblings spend the week visiting sites in and around Colorado Springs. Lodging and travel arrangements are made for the families that attend from outside the local area. "What makes us stand out from other charities is that 100% of all donations go towards the cause. From our camp mentors to our front office everyone's time is donated without compensation," says Steve Harrold, Founder of the Knight of Heroes. "Our goal is to help empower children who have lost their fathers during military service by providing positive adult mentorship, character development, and lasting friendships forged during an annual wilderness adventure camp," Harrold said. "And with the help of Triple S Products and other outstanding businesses we have been able to expand and take our foundation to new heights." Harrold added. The adventure camp consists of everything from white water rafting to rock climbing and each kid has their very own mentor assigned to them.
